Who we are

Rooted in Aotearoa, growing for nature

A community that meets through nature, grows through learning, and connects through action.

Our story

A charity built around young people and the natural world

Nature Guardians Foundation is a registered New Zealand charitable trust dedicated to nature education, environmental protection and youth development.

Through nature experiences, scientific practice and community participation, we support young people to understand nature, take part in real conservation actions, and care for their communities — across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our vision

A generation of nature guardians — with scientific curiosity, ecological awareness, cultural understanding and the ability to take action.

Our mission

To help young people build a meaningful connection with nature — and turn learning into real action through knowledge, participation and voice.

What we stand for

The guardians we hope to grow

Scientific curiosity

We learn by observing closely, asking questions and testing ideas in the real world.

Ecological awareness

We understand nature as connected systems, and our place within them.

Action & responsibility

We turn learning into real conservation and care for our communities.
